Ready for some quirky fun? I received a tip today that the Bunny Museum in Pasadena -- yes, a Bunny Museum -- is having an open house on Halloween day from 6 pm to 9 pm. Remember to read their FAQs to prepare for the visit. The event is kid-friendly, but strollers are not allowed. There are real bunnies, as well as bunny collectibles to look at. Note: the museum is located inside a couple's home, so don't look for a commercial-looking building. Just look for the giant Edward Scissorhands-like bunny hedge, assuming it's still there.
The couple holds a Guinness World Records for the "largest bunny collection," at 8,437 bunny-rabbit themed collectibles as of August 6, 1999. Gee, I wonder what it is up to now.
People all over the world have visited this "bunnerful" museum, including celebrities and at least one rock band, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, featured on the Web site's Visitors page. If you visit the band's Web site, you'll understand why.
Event Details:
"It is a very popular, kids-friendly Haunted House with strobe lights, red lights, black lights, and dry ice. Very dark atmosphere. (Adults may ask for a flashlight to peer into unlit glass cases.) No blood or guts. Spooky music. Walk in the front door and run out the back door! People that dress up as a bunny get a bunny gift, not just candy! No charge." Street parking is available.
